Oceanside

An adopted name, Oceanside is a collection of communities on the Eastern coast of Vancouver Island. A part of the Regional District of Nanaimo and includes the City of Parksville and the Town of Qualicum Beach as well as the unincorporated communities of Nanoose Bay, Coombs, Errington, Bowser, Deep Bay, and other smaller neighbourhood centres.

The Oceanside area stretches along the sheltered Salish Sea from Nanoose Bay to the South and Deep Bay to the North and inland to Cathedral Grove, Horne Lake Provincial Park, Coombs, French Creek Marina and the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve, a Unesco designated 800 square kilometre ecosystem.

Qualicum Beach School District SD69 extends 47 km from Nanoose Bay to Bowser, a mix of urban and rural developments on the traditional territory of the Qualicum First Nation & Coast Salish People of the Pacific Northwest.

The Oceanside population of approximately 47,000 people includes the City of Parksville (12,000+), the Town of Qualicum Beach (9000+) and the Regional District of Nanaimo, RDN E, F, G & H (25,000+).
